What we do
No upselling, no surprise add-ons. Pick the one you need.
Weekly mowing, edging, blowing, and clean-up. Aerating, dethatching, and overseeding in spring and fall, tuned to your grass type.
Beds, borders, and full-property plans. Native-leaning plant palettes with four-season interest. Irrigation sized to the property, not oversold.
Stone patios, walkways, retaining walls, and fire-pit areas. Bluestone, fieldstone, or pavers, matched to the property and the budget.
Spring clean-up, fall leaf removal, mulching, pruning, and winter prep. One vendor, one invoice, the same crew in October as in April.

Backyard reset
Montclair, NJ · Hardscape + planting
Tore out a tired patio and three overgrown beds. Replaced with bluestone steppers, a fieldstone fire-pit, and a low native border that holds shape into November.
Front-yard remake
Glen Ridge, NJ · Garden design
Pulled out the foundation hedges, opened up the entry, and added a layered front bed with seasonal interest from March through October.
Side-yard storage
West Orange, NJ · Hardscape
Cleaned up a narrow utility run with paver pads, a screen wall, and a mulched border. Trash cans, hoses, and recycling fit. The yard does not look like an alley.
Spring renewal plan
Maplewood, NJ · Maintenance
Weekly mow, biweekly bed edge, monthly pruning, twice-yearly mulch. One steady crew, one steady day of the week.
Pollinator border
Verona, NJ · Garden design
A 30-foot native border along the property line. Echinacea, switchgrass, milkweed, and a low fieldstone curb to define it from the lawn.
Driveway entry
Caldwell, NJ · Hardscape
A pair of cor-ten planters and a cobble apron made the driveway feel intentional from the curb without changing the footprint.
About the crew
Cedar & Stone is a small landscape outfit serving Essex, Passaic, and Bergen counties. We started with one truck, a push mower, and a handful of clients who couldn’t get returned calls. We added two more people, and that’s where we stop. Every visit is somebody you’ve met.
Licensed, fully insured, and members of the NJ Landscape Contractors Association. Designs are drawn by hand. Plants come from regional growers. Walls are dry-set when the slope allows, mortared when it doesn’t.
What clients say
“They show up on Wednesdays. Lawn looks better than my neighbor’s, and we have the same grass.”
Karen P., Montclair
“We had three estimates. Cedar & Stone’s was the only one written like a contract, not a guess. Project came in on time and on number.”
David O., Glen Ridge
“Honest, neat, and our garden looks the same in May as in September. That’s the test for me.”
Marisol R., West Orange
